About the Hunt
Let us share this secret, magical experience with you.
The Ride In
We meet in Eugene, OR, leave the cars behind, and take the 30-minute ride out together. The van is where the day starts: you’ll meet your fellow hunters, and hear where we’re headed.
Arrival
At the patch, we gather for a short introduction to this remarkable place: what makes a great truffle patch, how this one came to be, and why Oregon truffles belong on any list of the world’s great foods. There are light truffle-infused snacks to prove the point.
Every good patch has a story and a name.

Our dogs are always hunting. We find truffles all over Oregon even on our leisurely strolls. A truly productive truffle patch is a culmination of perfect timing placement and land use history. These places are magical and secretive and they always warrant the perfect name. We will take you to a place called the power patch. Book a hunt to find out why we named it that!
The Hunt
The dogs go to work, and everything else falls away. You’ll learn to read them: the sudden focus, the sleuthing zigzag as they close in on a scent, and finally the paw at the ground. That paw is the signal. Kneel down, get your gloves in the dirt, and pull a truffle from the earth with your own hands, then smell it. You’ll never forget it.
The Bounty
Back at the van we will inspect and divide the days finds while you warm up with a hot drink and relive the highlights. Every guest goes home with truffles. That’s guaranteed.
What to Expect
How long is it?
Plan on 3 to 4 hours from pickup to drop-off.
Where do we meet?
Guests meet at a central location in the Eugene area, leave their cars, and ride together in our van to the truffle patch. Exact meeting details arrive with your booking confirmation.
What is the terrain like?
This is an off-trail walk through the woods. Expect slopes, sticks, and uneven ground underfoot. We move at a relaxed pace, but sure footing is a must.
What should I wear and bring?
Dress for Oregon winter: waterproof boots and pants, with a raincoat handy in case of rain. Bring water for yourself. We provide gloves for digging, or bring your own favorites.
Who is this for?
Anyone 12 and up who's comfortable walking through the woods. We don't recommend the hunt for guests with mobility issues or children under 12.
