What to Expect

How long is the experience?

Plan on 3 to 4 hours from pickup to drop-off. This includes transport to the private site and our wrap-up gathering.

Where do we meet?

We meet in Eugene, Oregon. The exact address goes out with your booking confirmation, along with parking directions.

What is the terrain like?

Working forest: uneven ground, soft duff underfoot, and usually wet. Nothing technical, but you will be on your feet and off a path for a couple of hours.

What should I wear and bring?

Boots you do not mind ruining, and layers — the valley is cold and wet from November on. Bring a bag or box for what you find. We supply the digging tools.

Who is this experience for?

Anyone curious enough to get muddy. Cooks, foragers, dog people, and anyone who has wondered what a truffle smells like coming out of the ground.
